We have obtained Halal certification for our polylysine through the Japan Halal Association (JHA) for Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, and Vietnam.
This certification enables us to offer polylysine in non-food applications - including cosmetics, personal care products, and hygiene-related products - to customers in these four countries who require Halal-compliant solutions.
Polylysine is a cationic peptide composed of L-lysine, a type of amino acid. It can help inhibit microbial growth and contribute to extended shelf life and product stability.
Polylysine has already been approved for use as a food additive in Japan, South Korea, the United States, and China. It is used in a wide range of food products, including cooked rice, seasonings, prepared dishes, noodles, and confectionery.
In addition, because polylysine has minimal impact on taste and flavor and is effective even when used in relatively small amounts, it offers an excellent balance between maintaining the original taste and quality of foods and controlling costs.
Going forward, we will proceed with the registration procedures required for use as a food additive while confirming the applicable regulations and registration requirements in each country. In addition to non-food applications, we will also work to develop the market for food applications.
