JNC CORPORATION (CEO & President: Keizo Yamada, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) will execute the large-scale renovation of Uchitani First Power Station and Uchitani Second Power Station owned by JNC in Yatsushiro-shi, Kumamoto. ◊ - - ◊ - - ◊ - - ◊
JNC Group owns hydraulic power stations (total maximum output of 96,400 kW) in 13 places and photovoltaic power stations (total maximum output of 16,000 kW) in 4 places in Japan for developing the power generation business using renewable energy.
We have maintained the power generation capacity of our hydraulic power stations by renovating aged facilities based on long-term planning. While the social demand for clean energy grows, we have sequentially conducted renovation of our hydraulic power stations in order to reinforce their power generation capacity and realize stable supply of electric power.
Now, subsequent to the 11 power stations for which renovation has already been determined (of which 7 stations have started commercial operation), we will also execute the large-scale renovation of Uchitani First Power Station and Uchitani Second Power Station. This is the final project in a series of renovations that have been advanced since 2013. By this renovation, we will renew the turbines, power generators, etc. to high-efficiency equipment in order to increase the maximum output and the annual generation amount while keeping the approved water intake amount at the present level. We will give sufficient consideration to the environment and safety upon executing the renovation.
Hydraulic power generation is a precious, purely domestically produced energy having low carbon dioxide emission which makes it friendly to the environment. Our Company will take advantage of the power generation technologies cultivated so far to conduct business activities with consideration for the natural environment and regional communities, and will contribute to the society by supplying stable, clean energy in future years.
