The core business of JNC Group as a leading chemicals company includes research & development, manufacturing and selling of liquid crystal materials and organic EL materials. At the same time, we also regard the environment and energy groups as an important business domain. We own hydraulic power stations (total maximum output of 94,600 kW) in 13 places and photovoltaic power stations (total maximum output of 16,000 kW) in 4 places in Japan for developing the power generation business using renewable energy.

JNC has maintained the power generation capacity of our hydraulic power stations by renovating aged facilities based on long-term planning. While the social demand for clean energy grows, our Company has sequentially conducted renovation of our hydraulic power stations in order to reinforce their power generation capacity and realize a stable supply of electric power.

Now, subsequent to ten power stations already under renovation (of which five stations have commenced commercial operation), we will also execute the large-scale renovation of Toji Power Station. Toji Power Station has reached 90 years since its foundation. Although the maximum output decreased as a result of optimizing the water wheels and power generators, we expect the annual generation amount to increase due to the high-efficiency instruments. We will give sufficient consideration to the environment and safety upon the renovation.

Hydraulic power generation is a precious, purely domestically produced energy having low carbon dioxide emission which makes it friendly to the environment. Our Company will take advantage of the power generation technologies cultivated so far to conduct business activities with consideration for the natural environment and regional communities, and will contribute to the society by supplying stable, clean energy in future years.
