Fibers and Nonwovens

"ES FIBER" (thermo-bondable bi-component fiber), which was started as a downstream of our resin business, was successfully commercially produced for the first time in the world by our company, and received the Superior Technology Award from the Society of Fiber Science and Technology, Japan in 1980 for its excellent properties.
"ES FIBER" is composed of two components having different melting points, and can be formed into a nonwoven fabric without using adhesives, only by heat treatment utilizing the difference in melting points. Our company develops the fibers by freely combining raw-material resins, surfactants, cross-sectional shapes, etc.
"ES FIBER" is used as a raw material for through-air nonwoven fabric, air-laid nonwoven fabric, spunlace nonwoven fabric, point-bonded nonwoven fabric, wet-laid nonwoven fabric, etc.

The nonwoven fabric made of "ES FIBER" has properties such as low irritation to skin, softness, high strength and high bulkiness, and is used in hygienic materials such as diapers for infants and sanitary napkins, and industrial materials such as filters, oil-adsorbents and wipes.
Our company started the through-air nonwoven fabric business using "ES FIBER" in 1998. Currently, production bases for the fibers and nonwoven fabrics are located in South China, East China, Thailand and Japan. An integrated production system for the fibers and nonwoven fabrics has been established in each location.
Recently, we introduced post-processing technology such as perforation and shaping in order to meet the diversified needs of our customers.

Our company started sales of the nanofiber product "Elfa^®" in 2011.
"Elfa^®" is produced by the electrospinning method. In this method, organic and inorganic materials which have been conventionally difficult to form into fibers can be formed into nanofibers.
Our company has a unique lamination technology for combining existing products such as "ELFino^®" and "EsSoft^®." This technology allows us to customize functionalities for use in various applications, such as liquid and gas filters, sheet cosmetics, battery separators, high performance apparel and wound care materials.
