Purpose of inspection


 Contamination of utensils that come in contact with food increases the likelihood of food poisoning, controlling the number of microorganisms on utensils is important. Inspection for surface-associated microorganisms in the manufacturing environment is also important for controlling the manufacturing process.
 The use of sterile wipe inspection kits is recommended to prevent contamination during the wipe operation.


Purpose of inspection


1) Before wiping, press the swab with the squeezing part of the bottle to squeeze out excess water.



2) Wipe the area to be tested with a swab that has squwwzed out excess water. For the cocking counter or cutting board, wipe down a 10 cm square are.



 An example of wiping is below.


 


3) Return the wipedd swab to the bottle and add the wiped microorganisms to the diluent.



4) Add the 1 mL of diluent in the bottle to MC-Media Pad.



5) Put this MC-Media Pad into incubator, incubate at the temperature and time specified for each product.



6) Take out the MC-Media Pad from incubator, count the number of colonies with interpretation for each product.



7) Multiply the number of counted colonies by 10, calculate the number of microorganisms per wiped area.
