Enterobacteriaceae forms red colonies with yellow zone by redox and pH indicators.
This yellow zone is due to the changing color with pH indicator by the acid from Enterobacteriaceae.
Thus, the Enterobacteriaceae form red colonies with a yellowish change in the surrounding area. If there is no yellow zone, it is not Enterobacteriaceae.
